Throughout Pride Month, HayCo Pride has been nurturing connections with our neighbors and representing Haywood County at Pride events across the region. Our next stop? The Parade at Pride on Main, right here at home! We want to invite all of our supporters and subscribers to walk with us on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Sign up below, and we’ll follow up with all the details!
Hayco Pride
HayCo Pride is a grassroots organization rooted in rural Western North Carolina. We’re dedicated to uplifting LGBTQ+ lives through mutual aid, celebration, and community care year-round. From free markets to trans joy events, we believe no one should have to carry it alone. 💖🌈
Why March With Us
At HayCo Pride, we march not just to celebrate, but to remember and resist. The first queer pride was a protest against police violence. In June 1969, trans and queer folks in Greenwich Village stood up—throwing bricks, chants, and bodily presence—against violent police raids on the Stonewall Inn. It wasn’t festive pageantry that night, it was revolt, and it sparked a movement.
Marching today is a way to carry forward that same spirit of defiance and solidarity. Join our march in WNC to honor the legacy of those who said “Enough.” Together we reclaim our stories, our spaces, and our pride.
Disclaimer: Haywood County Pride on Main is organized by IDEA of Haywood County and is not a program of HayCo Pride. All of our finances are separate: donations and sponsorships to Pride on Main do not support the ongoing, year-round work of HayCo Pride, and donations to HayCo Pride do not go towards IDEA or the yearly Pride on Main festival.
