At HayCo Pride, we believe in the power of community support. With the launch of our Mini-Grants program, we aim to provide up to $200 in mutual aid to individual LGBTQIA+ community members in Western North Carolina. This initiative is guided by our campaign slogan: “You don’t have to carry it alone.”
What Are Mini-Grants?
These Mini-Grants are designed to offer immediate financial assistance to those in our community who need a little extra help. Whether it’s for essential supplies, emergency expenses, or resources that can make life a bit easier, our grants are here to lighten the load. Each grant is a testament to the power of collective care and solidarity.
How It Helps
Living in a rural area like Western North Carolina can come with unique challenges, especially for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Access to resources, support systems, and financial aid can often be limited. Our Mini-Grants are a step towards bridging that gap. By offering this financial support, we aim to:
- Alleviate Financial Stress: Help cover unexpected expenses or necessities that might otherwise be out of reach.
- Promote Well-being: Provide resources that contribute to mental and physical health, ensuring our community members feel supported.
- Foster Inclusivity: Ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, can access the help they need without stigma or judgment.
Why “You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone”?
This slogan encapsulates our commitment to community care. No one should have to face hardships by themselves, especially not in a community as vibrant and resilient as ours. With these grants, we are saying to our LGBTQIA+ family: “We see you, we support you, and we are here to share the burden.”
How to Apply
Applying for a Mini-Grant is simple. Visit our website and fill out the non-invasive application form. Tell us about your needs, and we’ll do our best to assist. Mini-Grants will be available until funds run out. Remember, the process is confidential, and you don’t have to carry it alone.
