At HayCo Pride, creativity and community go hand in hand, and that was especially evident during our recent art build. With our much-anticipated October 5th event just around the corner, we gathered to bring a key aspect of the celebration to life: our signs. These aren’t just any signs—they’re vibrant expressions of the spirit and message we want to share with everyone who attends.
The Creative Process
The focus of this art build was on crafting signs that will be displayed throughout the event, helping guide attendees while also adding a personal touch to the spaces. The goal? To create signs that would not only provide direction and information but also celebrate the diverse LGBTQIA+ community we serve.
We started with the basics—large boards, paints, stencils, and markers. But what made this build special was the collaborative energy. Volunteers came together with their unique talents and ideas, transforming simple materials into works of art that reflect our community’s diversity, resilience, and joy.

As the signs dry and the final touches are made, we’re beyond excited to see them come to life at our October 5th event. Each sign will not only guide and inform our attendees but also remind us of the power of community and the importance of creativity in our activism.
